I don’t know about you, but lockdown has really opened my eyes to a lot of things. The main take-away is however that I think I have finally figured out what exactly I want to do with my life, and I’m also almost certain of the steps I need to take to get there.

For a little bit of context, here is a bit of history. For the longest time, I have been super confused about what I actually want to do with my life, and I didn’t even know how to start figuring that out. So when lockdown rolled around, and I had nowhere to go… I really started to think. About life, how its going, what I like and don’t like, and how I would like to proceed hereon.

So how did being locked-down unlock my potential:

-I thought. I had a whole lot of time to think. And a whole lot of good came from my thoughts.

-I tapped into my creativity by buying some arts and crafts… So I was painting, drawing and all that fun.

-I read. a lot. I read so many articles, a few books, poetry and it just really helped me get my passion for writing back. Hence the start of my book blog here.

-I confronted myself. I realized a lot of my confusion came from within. I was so comfortable in just ‘going with the flow’ and letting life take me wherever. So I had to tell myself that none of that can continue.

So here’s to a better life for myself. I have so much inside of me that I want to share, and I cannot wait to realize my full potential and share it with the world.

Hi there. My lifestyle blog is live at: http://valerynangula.com/

  1. I totally know what you mean about the “confronting myself” part. I did that as well (continue to do that) and it’s been quite the discovery. It’s so crazy that it took a global pandemic for us to really stop our busy, distracting lives and really dig deep into our souls. One of the good things to come out of this. Good luck on your journey!

  2. The lockdown really helped me too! I can totally relate to this post.

I’m not sure yet what I want to do but I’m taking steps with a clearer head. I learned a lot of things and made lots of changes and it beautiful to see.

Your question “how can being locked-down help unlock my potential” is valid!

  3. I’m really glad to read that the lockdown helped you (Nahya and Sylvia too). That wasn’t my story, but I guess it’s fine too.

What matters is that we all survived it. Great piece!
