Who doesn’t love a place where you have more than one thing on offer? Steenberg Farm was the prefect idea for a perfect Sunday because we could have lunch, have a wine tasting all while enjoying unbelievably scenic views.
We made a booking at the Bistro 1682 (Bistro Sixteen82) for midday lunch. Situated in the Constantia Valley Winelands, they call themselves a contemporary restaurant, named after the year in which Steenberg was established. If you are in the mood for tapas, in a bistro-style setting but full on fine dining, then this is the place for you. It is surrounding by garden-like décor, with water features that are absolutely breathtaking.
The food was absolutely divine. The ordering was a breeze, our waiter was heaven-sent and the service was so quick. It took less than 10 minutes to order our food and starting to eat the actual meal. The food was delicious, the meat was definitely falling off the bone and the flavour was just perfect, not too much, but just enough to taste divinity on a plate.
If you only knew how long we had to wait to get some shots on this water reflective ramp. But it was worth the wait. I don’t blame the other guests for all wanting a photo there. It is so beautiful.
I think this is definitely a great way to spend one’s Sunday Afternoon. After lunch, and taking some pictures, we decided to move into the tasting room for some good fun of wine tasting. I will write a separate blog post, Steenberg Farm Part 2: Wine Tasting. The link will be updated once the post is live.
