I know I’m not alone in finding it hard to celebrate myself… regardless of how big or small the achievement is. And I have slowly started to realise how important it is for someone to celebrate themselves, even when it doesn’t seem like something huge or life-changing happened. Here’s why:
You only live once. And if you don’t learn to pat yourself on the back, you’ll never learn to realise that “you’re doing amazing, sweetie“. Obviously, no one wants to look like they brag about their life achievements, but if no one else is there to cheer you on, why not do it yourself. Especially when it comes to more personal and smaller wins, you might have no other choice than to clap for yourself. Small wins could be getting out of bed that day, completing a task you’ve been putting off for a while, deleting a number, or even finally cutting someone off. It may not seem big, but it could be big for you and your life.
So here’s the small win I’m celebrating this week:
I’ll start by celebrating the fact that my blog hit 5 000 all-time views. I started this blog last year during lockdown, after deleting and re-starting a million other blogs, only because I struggled to find my niche. But this blog was my final attempt, and I’m so glad I had the courage to start over. Having 5 000 people visit my blog is an amazing achievement for me, considering how inconsistent I am (sorry guys, I’ll try harder to post more often).
This was a cool notification to receive, because I didn’t expect it. I try not to focus too much on the numbers, you know?
Thank you so much to all of my readers, followers, subscribers and visitors. Its nice to know that something I’m passionate about is seen as interesting, and of value to some people out there. Some of you take time out of your lives to email and reach out to me on social media to ask where I am,. give comments and suggestions and that is amazing to me.
Try and celebrate yourself as much as you can, no one even has to know.
P.S What wins (big or small) are you celebrating today?
Thanks for reading
xx Val

This is absolutely amazing. I also never celebrated the numbers but I started to appreciate the small wins and there’s nothing wrong with that.
